Time & Attendance |
Companies of all sizes use Time & Attendance
processes to gather information about the amount of
productive time employees spend on the job. The most
common tracking utilised is the capture of an
accurate time each employee reports to work and the
actual hours they spend on the job. With an advanced
solution like the SACO Enterprise Time & Attendance
module, employers can ensure that maximum
productivity is achieved by enforcing rules
pertaining to shifts and the workforce, resulting in
an accurate payroll.
The time punch clock, or paper timesheet, is
replaced with an electronic reader. This reader can
either be a smartcard or biometric reader. The
employee swipes an ID badge, or presents a finger to
the reader at the beginning and end of the work
period. This might even be as they exit through a
physical Access Control barrier such as a turnstile.
This clock data is sent to a central server where
predefined rules pertaining to shifts, pay rules and
the like are used to calculate an employees’ time
code and the hours worked. All unauthorised overtime
and absenteeism is recorded as exceptions and must
be rectified by supervisors or payroll clerks. This
information is in then interfaced to the payroll
system where a pay rate is attached to the time
worked for the employee. From this, payment can
be made to the employee with very little, if any,
input from payroll and supervisor staff.
The SACO Enterprise Time & Attendance module allows
companies to track and evaluate the performance and
work activities of employees using a single software
application. The SACO Enterprise Time & Attendance
software module enables employers to store, track
and organise the most important employee time
related information in one place. Everything needed
to track and monitor employee activities and
management processes is available through a user
interface and central database server.
Companies with large number of employees usually
need to install several readers. In this case,
networking becomes important. RS-485 and RS-232
network protocol is commonly applied for Time &
Attendance networking. Some systems use more robust
and friendly networking technology such as Ethernet
(TCP/IP) and Wi-Fi connecting the reader devices
directly to the LAN or WAN.
Today, hundreds of employers use the SACO solution
to pay their workforce, whether it interfaces to
SAP, VIP or any other payroll system. The SACO
solution provides an easy to use, but very powerful
and effective way to manage productivity of your
workforce. A major benefit to the SACO solution
offering is the use of the readers. One reader can
be used for both Access Control and Time &
Attendance.
