Passive RFID |
In contrast to active RFID tags, passive tags are
usually smaller and less expensive. Passive RFID has
been in use for many years, and has become popular
with the introduction of proximity cards which are widely used
throughout the world in access control applications.
During the last decade, RFID has gained increased
popularity throughout industry. Thus, Passive RFID has become more
cost-effective, especially with the introduction of EPC (electronic product code) technology. EPC has
evolved rapidly over the past 4 years, as a result
the price of tags has dropped significantly. This
enables both customers and solutions providers to
offer effective solutions, with a higher ROI.
